Norman A. Smith, Age 74, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away Friday October 3, 2025 with his loving family by his side at the Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio after an extended illness.

Norman, was born in Lewis County, Kentucky October 28, 1950 to the late Norman L. and Lucy Montieth Smith. Norman worked for the U.S. Shoe Corporation in Vanceburg for 20 years. He then worked for the Lewis County Middle School as a custodian for 10 years. He was a farmer and loved to go fishing and hunting in his spare time. Norman was of the Christian faith. Norman was a veteran of the United States Army in which he so proudly served.

Preceded in death beside his parents were two sons- Joey Smith and Mark Smith.

Left to cherish his memories is his wife of 55 years Phyllis Brown Smith of Vanceburg, Ky.

One son- Norman (Kimberly) Smith of Garrison, Ky.

Three sisters- Wilma Chinn, Rita Smith, and Audrey McCane all of Vanceburg, Ky.

Two brothers- Gary (Sandy) Smith, and Rick (Candy) Smith both of Vanceburg, Ky.

6-grandchildren- Zachary, Casara, Amber, Dawson, Aleah, and Kaden, along with 12- great- grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews survive who also will mourn his passing.

Funeral services will be Saturday October 11, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gaydos Funeral Home with Brother Tony Corns officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens Black Oak, Ky.

Military graveside rites will be accorded by the V.F.W. Post 5438 Monte Lewis Stamm.

Visitation will be Saturday October 11, 2025 at Gaydos Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.

Pallbearers for Norman A. Smith will be his grandchildren.
