“Absent from the body, present with the Lord,” Norman H. Vreeland passed away peacefully July 26, 2025 at the end of a long and active life.
He proudly served his country for 35 years as a U.S. Marine. He celebrated being married to his high school sweetheart for over 70 “grand and glorious” years which he claimed were “unhindered by progress.” He loved his country garden, cats and dogs, road trips, fishing trips, the beach, and any excuse for celebrating and eating out. Throughout his life church was always important to him and his faith stayed strong.
He is survived by his loving wife Marjorie, his daughters Meta Carol and Normandie, M. Balazs of San Antonio, and the Hardman family of Orlando FL and Sylva NC.
Services at All Saints Anglican Parish, Wilmington, NC at a later date.
