Oliver Eugene Pritchard, resident of Oklahoma City, was born on Monday, August 5, 1946 to Hellen Roady & Albert Pritchard in Sulphur, Oklahoma. He passed from this life on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years and 15 days. Gene married his wife of 41 years, LaNelle Stewart, in Sulphur, Oklahoma on September 5, 1970. He was a big sports fan and enjoyed the horse races. His favorite team was the Oklahoma Sooners at OU and the Sulphur OK high school Bulldogs. He graduated from Sulphur high school in 1964 and had played high school football. He graduated from East Central State College with a bachelors degree in teaching. He taught social studies, history and geography at Western Heights Jr High for approximately 40 years and retired around 2011. He is survived by his brother Thomas "Dean" Pritchard (Kathy), nephew Brian Pritchard (Angela) and their children, niece Tammy Wood (Jeremy) and their children, niece Holly Pritchard, and niece Dana Shymske (Doug) and their children, and his sister-in-law Dianne Hurt. He was preceded in death by his wife Lanelle, his father Albert Pritchard, and his mother Helen Roady, and all of his grandparents. A graveside service for Gene will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 10 A.M. at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of the DeArman Funeral Home of Sulphur.
