Olivia DeSimone Obituary

Born in New Castle on November 2, 1930, Olivia was the daughter of the late Frank A. and Josephine M. Morella Palumbo.
In 1952 Olivia married her beloved husband, Charles L. DeSimone. Charles preceded her in death on November 26, 1963.
In the early years Olivia had worked for the Winter Company for over twenty years. She then worked as a secretary for the Lawrence County Housing Authority until she retired after more than twenty years of service.
Olivia was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Camillus Church and the Ladies Guild of the church. She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening. Olivia also enjoyed doing Crossword puzzles.
Olivia is survived by her son, Dr. Jeffrey F. DeSimone with whom she resided, her brother, Louis F. Palumbo (Marcia) and her sister, Dr. Lucille Pazak and several Nieces and Nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Olivia was preceded in death by her sister, Anarose Palumbo.
Visitation will be on Sunday 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road. A procession will leave the funeral home on Monday at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Mary's Church at 10:00 a.m. Father John Gizler will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Lucy Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Holy Spirit Parish Food Pantry, 910 S. Mercer St., New Castle, PA 16101.

I remember your dear mother quite well. My mom, Elisabeth Both, who worked with her at Winters for many years spoke very highly of her. My heart goes out to you Jeffrey. Sending you prayers of hope and strength. I lost my mom in Nov. of 2022. Ingrid Both-Hoesl and family
