81, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Cedar Crest Nursing Home in Cranston. He was the beloved husband of the late Jo-Ann (Santagata) Sciarra. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Onorato and Rose (Caracappo) Sciarra.
He worked at St. Mary's Church as the sexton for many years with his son who just passed away last week. He was very dedicated to the parish along with his son. Previously he worked for various restaurants as a banquet manager including the former Baccaccio's restaurant. Paul was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Cranston, and the Holy Name Society.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Jessica Rhodes of Florida and was father of the late Onorato Paul Sciarra, III. He was the brother of the late Angelo Sciarra, Caroline Matarese, Filomena "Fannie" Sousa, Nancy Sciarra, Gloria Baxter, and Assunta "Susie" Magnelli.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial with his son on Thursday, May 5th at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are Wednesday, May 4th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Mary Church mass of intentions for Paul and the souls of the departed.
