Opal Geraldine "Gerri" Wiedel

Opal "Gerri" Wiedel was born at St John's hospital Tulsa, OK the daughter of Rosa Ann Barnes and Freeman Gregory. The family moved to Tahlequah, OK when she 3 and started school in Tahlequah Sequoyah Elementary School. She also attended Morris grade school and Woodall grade school. In Junior High they moved to Wynona, OK where she attended school and met Elvin Horton. They married and had 1 child. They moved to Dutch Harbor, Alaska for a little while and moved back and lived in Wynona till she divorced Elvin and moved back to Dutch Harbor.
She lived in Tulsa and Glenpool where she met her husband Stephen Wiedel and made their home in Muskogee. She worked for Muskogee Schools and enjoyed working with the kids. She also loved reading, country music and dancing and playing bingo.
She leaves behind her husband of twenty-two years Steve Wade Wiedel and their six children Wendy sanders, Jennifer Gonzales, Dale Horton, Bryer Wiedel, Summer Wiedel and Georgia Wiedel; two sisters and three brothers Brenda Sloan, and Susie Aubrey, David Gregory, Johnny Gregory and Wayne Gregory; grandchildren Landon, Ronan, Bianca, Lydia, JR, Carlie, Walker, Tristen and Parker.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday October 13, 2023 at Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home in Muskogee.
