In Loving Memory of Owen Kasozi
Beloved Daughter and Sister
Of Danvers, died tragically on Christmas Day December 25, 2024, while walking her dog at J.C. Phillips Nature Preserve in Beverly. She was 30 years old.
Owen was born on August 18th, 1994, in Kampala, Uganda; loved and cherished by those around her, Owen lived a normal childhood.
In July 2009, Owen along with her three siblings moved to the United States and joined Thelma, their mother embarking on a new journey.
Owen attended Charlestown high school where she graduated in 2012 and would then go on to attend Western New England University, later transferring to Salem State University. She majored in Computer Science and graduated with a bachelor's degree in 2019.
Owen brought an indescribable vibrant energy to every room she was in and though she lived a short life it was one full of excitement, adventure and laughter despite the numerous bumps along the road. She loved travelling around the world, music, movies, running marathons, going on cruises and hikes, and looking after her beloved Aussie Shepard, Bokka, who she adopted in 2022. Her smile, much like the sun, could illuminate the darkest of days and although she is no longer here physically, her spirit lives on in those who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her. The impact she had on the ones she loved is one that can never be forgotten and will transcend lifetimes for eternity.
Owen was a vibrant soul who brought joy and laughter to everyone she met, her passion for life was infectious, and she had a unique ability to make those around her feel valued and loved. She cherished her family and friends deeply, and her absence will be felt profoundly in our lives. She will be greatly missed.
Family and friends are welcome to gather and celebrate Owen's life and remember the love and friendship she shared with so many others at a Funeral Service in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on SATURDAY afternoon January 4th from 3pm until 6pm.
