Pamela Lee Mulroy, age 51, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 with family by her side. She was born on September 24th, 1971 to Charles and Marlene (Berg) Mulroy. Pam enjoyed listening to music (especially John Denver, The Beach Boys, Rod Stewart, and Poison), family get-togethers, like Christmas and birthdays (especially when she got the presents), and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her parents Charles and Marlene Mulroy, sister Joelle Mulroy Cluff and brother Brian (Kim) Mulroy. She is further survived by her nieces London, Cecily, and Grace Cluff; nephews Jevis and Kody Mulroy, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Preceding her in death are her grandparents Maurice and Marcella Mulroy, Hub and Dolores Berg, uncles Randy Mulroy, Fred Schultz, Bryan Dunn and her aunt Judy Mulroy.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital for the wonderful care given to Pam over her many days in the hospital. Also, to the amazing staff at Agape of Wisconsin where Pam lived for 40 years.
Pam defied the odds from birth. Having been told that she would never walk or talk and that she would not live past 12 years old, the recommendation to her parents at the time was to place her in an institution and carry on with life without her. For Chuck and Marlene, this was never an option. They welcomed Pam home and poured their love and time and patience into her life. With the help of a loving and supportive extended family and a village of speech pathologists, occupational and physical therapists, behavioral health instructors and specialists, and the teachers at Plamann School in Appleton, Pam learned sign language first to communicate her needs and eventually transitioned to talking, which she loved to do from that point on!
That tremendous amount of work completed in the first decade of her life, set the stage for 4 additional decades of life in which Pam turned the tables and taught us, her family, the true meaning of respect for and acceptance of all persons, gritty determination, humble love, to celebrate any accomplishment, and to delight in the small things in life, like how hair can tickle.
Pam has been and will continue to be, beyond her life on this earth, a shining light in her families' hearts.
A Funeral Service will be held for Pamela at 2 PM on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Valley Funeral Home, N1858 Greenville Dr., Greenville, WI 54942. Family and friends may visit from 1-2 PM at the Funeral Home. Entombment will take place at 11 AM on Monday, April 3, 2023 at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton, WI.
