Pansy "Pat" Jean Brooks was 91 years of age when she died of natural causes on Thursday, September 18th, 2025 in her home in Hiram Georgia.
Pat was the daughter of Walter and Ruby Todd of Atlanta Georgia where she was born and lived across from Grant Park. At the age of twelve, her family moved to Cobb County where she graduated from Osborne High School at age 16. She then landed a job at Lockheed (Marietta, Georgia )and attended accounting classes at night at Georgia State University. At age 18, she met Hulett Brooks on the Marietta Square who became her husband of 70 years. They were married at Fair Oaks Baptist Church and attended there for several years. The couple lived in a garage apartment for the first year of marriage when she became pregnant with her first child, Robin. Five years later, she had a second child, Alan. Hulett then built their first house and moved their growing family to Stilesboro road. They became active members of New Salem Baptist Not long after Alan was born, she was in a horrific car accident where her face was crushed and she incurred several broken bones.
Her sister & brother-n-law (Polly and Harold Brooks) moved in to help take care of her and the children. After recovering from her accident, she went on to have her third child, Julie and Hulett built her a second home located on Acworth Due West Road in Kennesaw Georgia. As Brooks Brothers Grading Company was formed, she became the accounting book keeper for her husband's business. Two years later, her fourth child, Terry was born and her life was very full! As a full time homemaker, she found time to serve in her church by teaching Sunday School to High School Students, served in VBS and the Nursery into her eighties, was an accomplished seamstress, amazing cook to all, harvested and canned her own vegetables, learned to play Alta Tennis, served several years as the PTA President, served as a Cobb County Georgia Poll worker of 25 years, Member of the Red Cross Emergency Volunteers, taught oil base art classes, served on the Civic Club Committee Member of 25 years in North Georgia.
At age 62, Hulett built her third home on their farm in Lyerly Georgia where she remained until this year. She continued to serve in her local community by serving in the Lyerly First Baptist Church in her flower ministry and by raising money for the local High School Scholarship Fund for High School Seniors. She was known to her grandkids as "Granny" and she continued to love those in her circle of friends until her last day on earth.
Pat is survived by her four children-Robin (spouse-Beth), Alan (spouse-Leigh), Julie (spouse-Cliff), Terry (spouse-Linda). Her Grandchildren consists of :Josh (spouse-Dawn), Hannah (spouse-Chad), Jessica (spouse-Barrett), Zachary (spouse-Anna Claire), Bradley (spouse-Courtney), Sarah, Audrey and Abigail and her Great Grandchildren: Cole, Josie, Hazer, Brooks, Sumner, Haynes, and Lainey.
A believer of Jesus Christ from age 12 years old, Mom is now home with the LORD in Heaven. She is healed-body, mind and spirit-PRASE BE TO GOD!HE has been her shield, HER Glory and the LIFTER of her head Psalm 3:3
