Pastor- Jack Delp

Pastor - Elmer "Jack" Delp, age 69 of Galax, VA left his earthly tabernacle to be with his heavenly father on February 21, 2025. He was surrounded by his loving family and his devoted wife of 51 years. Jack was born in Galax, VA., on August 22, 1955 to the late Gerald and Mary Williams Delp. He was a retired pastor with over 35 years serving his Lord and Savior at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Low Gap, NC., Beaver Dam Baptist Church in SC., and Gold Hill Baptist Church in Independence, VA. He is survived by his wife; Elizabeth "Ann" Delp of Galax, VA., daughters; Melissa Spurlin and husband Todd of Low Gap, NC., and Trish Shaver of Fries, VA., sisters; Jeanette Moxley and husband Jim of Stuart, VA., Teresa Evans and husband Joe of King, NC. and Lynn Delp Marshall of Woodlawn, VA., his grandchildren; T.J. Spurlin and wife Tiffany, Erika Spurlin, Joseph Shaver, Jackson Shaver and Jonathan Shaver, one great grandchild; Sallie Ann Spurlin, father and mother-in-law; Ray and Betty Lineberry of Galax, VA., sisters-in-law; Patricia and husband Kenneth Wright of Galax, VA., Teresa Taylor of Liberal, MO., Joyce and Joe Engle of Liberal MO., brothers-in-law; Terry Lineberry of Galax, VA., David and Chrystel Wright of Hillsville, VA., and Everett Lineberry of Wytheville, VA., One very special Aunt Madeline Goodson of Galax, VA. Graveside services will be held Monday February 24, 2025 beginning at 1:00 P.M. at the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Low Gap, NC., with Pastor T.J. Spurlin and Sam Blevins officiating. Honorary pallbearer; Jonathan Shaver, active pallbearers; Joseph Shaver, Jackson Shaver, Joe Evans, Jonathan Ritchie, Dustin Marshall and Cody Brown.
