Patricia J. "Nanny" Burkholder, age 93, was called Home on Sunday, August 17, 2025.
Patricia was born June 4, 1932, in Lima, OH, to the late Kenneth and Mary (Klingler) Gause. On September 16, 1950, she married Bernard A. Burkholder Sr., who preceded her in death on February 25, 1998.
Patricia was a longtime member of Sugar Creek Church of the Brethren. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed camping. Most of all, Patricia loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Jeanice M. (Daniel ) Whitaker, Bernard A. Burkholder, and Bruce W. (Constance Ellerbrock) Burkholder all of Lima; daughter-in-law, Patricia Burkholder of Lima; 11 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and her beloved Yorkie, Charlie.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by 3 children, Vicki J. Burkholder, Sylvia A. Mackey, and Barry J. Burkholder; 3 Grandchildren; and 5 siblings, Viola May, Shirley Wellbaum, Kenneth Gause, Gary Gause, and Judy Seckel.
Funeral services celebrating Patricia's life will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at CHILES - LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Pastor Andrew Shields will officiate. A burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the funeral home.
American Heart Association or the charity of the donor's choice.
