Patricia Franzyshen Dynes passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at the age of 80.
Patricia was a graduate of Peninsula Catholic High School. She was employed at Newport News Shipbuilding from 1962 - 1979. Patricia was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Stashia Franzyshen and her brother, Richard P. Franzyshen.
Patricia "Pattsy" is survived by her husband of 47 years, James O. Dynes; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Frank and Jean Franzyshen of Sarasota, FL, Ronald Franzyshen of Sutherland, VA, and Henry Franzyshen of Barhamsville, VA; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Geoff Staples of Newport News, VA; son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Charli Dynes of Troy, MI; granddaughter, Eleanor Yarborough and husband, Matthew; grandson, Matthew Staples and wife, Emily; granddaughter, Alexandra Dynes, and grandson, Logan Dynes.
The family will receive family and friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Weymouth Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, April 26, 2024 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 116 Denbigh Blvd., Newport News, VA with interment to follow at Peninsula Memorial Park.

My heart felt sorrow, love go out to the Dynes and Staples family. Babci was so loved by all of us. What an absolute pleasure it is to know her and her husband. The kindest, sweetest woman she was so kind to our daughter Emily Staples for this I am so grateful. She always had the kindest smile on her face, her eyes reflected such warmth you could feel this when she entered the room. God bless, Ve con Dios.
