Patricia Fern Neel, 90, of Perry, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Eden Acres Campus of Perry Lutheran Homes.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home – Perry Chapel, with visitation beginning one hour prior at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Perry Food Pantry or the Presby Child Care Center in Perry. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.caldwellparrish.com.
Pat was born September 8, 1934, in Woodward, Iowa, to John Edward and Margie Faith (Stumbo) Fosenburg. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1952, where she enjoyed playing basketball and performing on trombone in both concert and marching band.
On June 19, 1953, Patricia was united in marriage to Hollis Neel. Together they were blessed with two children, Craig and Suzett. Pat spent 18 years working for American Family Insurance in Des Moines, and also served as a secretary at various other workplaces throughout her career.
She enjoyed golfing, swimming, and spending time at the McCreary Center, where she valued both exercise and friendship. As a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church in Perry, Pat cherished volunteering, fellowship, and the leadership of Pastor Lynne.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margie; her husband, Hollis; her daughter, Suzett; and her brother, Melvin. Pat is lovingly remembered by her son, Craig (Karla) Neel; grandchildren, Kati, Garrett, and Paige; siblings, John Fosenburg and Peggy Long; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
