Patrick Biersteker, age 85, a lifelong resident of Green Bay, WI, passed away peacefully, Thursday, August 8, 2024. He was born in Green Bay on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1939, son of the late Joseph and Esther (Tiller) Biersteker.
Pat attended Green Bay East High School and enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 17. He proudly served his country until his honorable discharge. Patrick was united in marriage to Yvonne Luedtke, July 16, 1960. They shared 61 loving years together before Yvonne passed away, October 22, 2021. He was employed by the Green Bay & Western Railroad for over 30 years before he retired due to a Leukemia diagnosis.
During retirement, Pat kept busy as a stay at home grandpa and spent many hours volunteering at St. Mary of the Angels Parish. His tasks at the church included snow removal, lawn maintenance and assisting with their annual church picnic. Pat was a second dad to both family and friends. He shared his knowledge and talents as a repairman, which demonstrated his willingness to help anyone in need at any time. Pat cherished the time he spent at his cottage in Lakewood, WI, a legacy his family will remember and enjoy for generations.
Patrick is survived by his sons, Mitchell Biersteker and Gary (Kathey Phillips) Biersteker; 2 granddaughters, Danielle (Scott Patridge) Biersteker and Stephanie (Jack Verville) Biersteker; a great-grandson, Cayden Biersteker-Cordova and 2 siblings, Roger Biersteker and Janet Stangel. He is further survived by Laurie Biersteker, many close nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Yvonne; 12 siblings: Ralph (Carol), Robert, Esther "Tiny" (Barney) Black, Joseph Jr. (Nancy), Lola (Joseph) Lindsmeyer, Roland "Pete" (JoAnn), Ken (Lois), Bruce (Kathleen), Nancy (Jim) Rothe, Gary and Nona and a brother-in-law, Jim Stangel.
Visitation will be held at St. Mary of the Angels Parish (645 S. Irwin Ave., Green Bay, WI), Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 9 to 10 AM.
