Patrick W. Coffman, 69, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 with his family by his side.
He was born on Sunday, February 7, 1954 in Alameda, California, son of the late Clifford and Dorothy (née Arrington) Coffman.
Pat married Kathy on June 29, 1986 at Loose Park. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He enjoyed collecting coins, comic books, scraping and playing pool. Pat had a big heart for others in need. He delivered pizza's in his spare time and at Christmas he would have Kathy prepare stockings full of candy to give to the children at the homes he delivered to. Once, Pat was delivering a pizza to a home and realized the family had no heat. He rushed home to get a space heater for them to use.
Pat worked at the school volunteering his time when his son, Sean, was little. Pat dressed up as Santa Clause to go to Sean's classroom. Once, the teachers saw Pat they asked him to go to each classroom and visit all the children. He felt very strong about teachers and all they give to the students. Each year for Teacher Appreciation Day Pat, Kathy and a few friends would prepare a meal for the teachers to show how much he cared. Pat was a gift to all of who knew him as he always went out of his way to help others. These small acts of kindness were what gave Pat so much enjoyment in life. Pat loved animals and he was always bringing home stray animals in need. He will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife Katherine "Kathy" Coffman, two sons; Sean (Debra) Coffman, Ryan (Sayeeda) Coffman, four grandchildren; Alana Coffman, Lorelei Coffman, Daniel Konrardy, Lacy Logan, two siblings; Sandy Jones, Keith Coffman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Clifford and Dorothy Coffman, one sister; Allen Malone, one brother; Cliff Coffman, and Son; Scotty Shields.
