Patsy Harston Wahl, R.N., passed away September 28, 2023. Pat was born February 20, 1936, the youngest of seven children, to Charley and Rhetta Harston on a farm in the Chickasha, Oklahoma community.
Pat graduated from the Amber High School in 1954 and the Oklahoma Baptist Hospital School of Nursing at Muskogee, Oklahoma in 1957. Later, she returned to college receiving a B.S. in Nursing from O.C.U., in 1957; a Masters in Nursing in 1976 and a Masters in Public Health in 1987, both from the University of Oklahoma.
She married Donald Wahl in 1957, became a proud mother to Marsha in 1959, a grandmother to Levi in 1990, and a great grandmother to Sadie Dobrinski in 2019 and Micah Dobrinski in 2021.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Wahl, her daughter Marsha Cruz, her parents, her brother and her five sisters. Pat is survived by her grandson Levi Dobrinski, great grandchildren Sadie and Micah Dobrinski, of Shawnee; nieces and nephews, and other family members and friends.
She was a "Born Again Christian" who believed she was "Called by the Lord" to take care of the sick. She worked tirelessly in her chosen profession, first in direct patient care and later in nursing and hospital administration.
Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children or a Children's Ministry of your choice.
Funeral services will be at Tulakes Baptist Church at 10:00 am on October 3, 2023. Under the direction of the Buchanan Funeral Service.

I will never forget the time I was blessed to have with Mama Pat. I love her with all my heart. She was an amazing woman - kind hearted, hilarious, intelligent, caring, full of stories and love and strong faith. I know she´s so happy to be with her husband and daughter again. I have missed her everyday since the last time I saw her. I´m so grateful I got the chance to be a part of her life and I will never stop thinking about her.
