Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Services - AbbevillePatti Prince Howie, 73, of Abbeville, wife of Tom Howie, died Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at the Hospice House in Greenwood, SC. She was born in Abbeville, SC to Harold Lawrence Prince, Jr. and the late Marion Boyd Camak Prince. Patti was a beloved community member, a dedicated professional and a cherished friend to many.
Her educational journey began at Abbeville High School, where she graduated in 1970. She held various leadership roles during her high school years, particularly as the captain of the cheerleading squad. Following high school, she attended the University of South Carolina and graduated from the South Carolina Bankers School. Her contributions to her alma mater were honored with her induction into the Abbeville High School Class of 1970 Hall of Fame and she served as treasurer of the Abbeville High School Booster Club.
Patti enjoyed a fulfilling career in the banking industry for 41 years where she held various positions at many different banks. She was a founding member and served as Vice-President of the Bank of Abbeville where she made significant contributions to the institution’s success. Patti was also a member of the South Carolina Bankers Association. In addition to her banking career, she embraced the role of Independent CAbi Stylist for 17 years, continuing to excel and earn recognition in her new endeavors.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Patti left a lasting mark on her community. She was a founding member of the Abbeville Women’s Club and served as treasurer of the Cotillion Club. Her leadership qualities shone through her role as a former president of the Abbeville Optimist Club.
Patti was known for her kind and welcoming personality, traits that endeared her to those fortunate enough to know her. She was actively involved in her church, being a life-time member of Main Street Methodist Church. She participated in various activities, including the Agnes Rogers Circle, Agnes Closet, and served as both treasurer and a member of the Administrative Council for many years. Patti was also a member of the Pastor Parish Committee and Nora’s Girls Bible Study Group.
She loved spending time with her friends and was an active member of the Lunch Bunch and the Fripp Group, enjoying the company of her friends. Patti will be fondly remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family, friends and community and her spirit will live on in the hearts she touched.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dana White and her husband Joe White; brother-in-law, Drew Mundy and an aunt, Glenda Chandler.
Patti is survived by her husband of 53 years, Tom, of the home; son, Tige (Jackie) Howie of Columbia, SC; daughter, Sarah Lynne Howie (Lamar Williams) of Greenville; brother Hal L. Prince, III of Abbeville; two sisters, Kim Mundy and Milly (Paul) Stovall, all of Abbeville; four grandchildren, Dry Howie, Chloe Howie, Harry Williams and Lyda Williams; two uncles, Pitts (Emma) Camak and David (Debbie) Camak; and three sisters-in-love, Gene (Grady) Butler, Ruth (Dave) Bacon and Hannah (Mel) Dias.
The family will receive friends 5:00PM – 7:00PM, Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home, Abbeville Chapel, 302 N. Main Street, Abbeville, SC 29620. Funeral services will be 1:00PM, Friday, September 5, 2025, at Main Street Methodist Church, 300 N. Main Street, Abbeville, SC 29620. Ladies are encouraged to wear their favorite CAbi attire. Burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery.
