Patty Jean (Osborn) O’Dell, a beloved mom, grandma and great grandma of Independence, Missouri passed away peacefully with family at her side at the Kansas City Hospice House on August 9, 2025 at the age of 78. Patty was born on June 7, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Audra and Dorothy (Colbert) Osborn and was a lifelong area resident graduating from William Chrisman High School in 1965.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and loving on her grandbabies. Her favorite hobbies were reading, crossword puzzles and gardening (she grew beautiful flowers).
Patty's life was a testament to resilience and her unwavering faith in our Lord Jesus that was shaped in her early years while spending summers and attending church with her grandma Alta Osborn.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry O’Dell and her parents Audra and Dorothy Osborn.
She is survived by; 2 daughters, Christina Rowe and husband Stephen and Emily O’Dell all of Independence, Missouri; 3 grandaughters, Allison O’Dell, Abigail Turley and husband Blake, Angela Cooper and husband Cody and 5 great grandchildren, Killian, Finnegan, Carson, Hunter and Ethan.
Patty's life was a blessing, her memory a treasure and she will be deeply missed. Cremation is planned with a private family graveside service at the Parrack Grove Cemetery in Macks Creek, Missouri.
