Paul D. Alexis was born on Monday, December 27, 1948, in Trouin, Haiti, to the late Marie Dedelia Estinfil Alexis and Joseph Toussaint Alexis.
As a young man, Paul began studying the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses in Haiti. His appreciation for Bible truth grew, and in June 1971, at the age of 23, he dedicated his life to Jehovah and symbolized that dedication through water baptism.
On July 31, 1976, he married Ghislaine Cadeus, the love of his life. Together with their five children, they built a home centered on their love for Jehovah and a shared desire to serve Him faithfully.
Brother Alexis was known for his loyal and diligent service to Jehovah. He was privileged to serve in the congregation in various privilege of service-including as a ministerial servant, an elder, and a regular pioneer. These roles brought him much joy, especially the opportunity to support and encourage his fellow believers.
He had a deep love for Jehovah, for His Word the Bible, and for the ministry. Paul spent countless hours helping others learn about Jehovah and His promises. Even as his health declined, he remained zealous in his preaching work. Despite physical limitations, he never missed an opportunity to share the good news of God's Kingdom.
His life reflected qualities that Jehovah values-faithfulness, humility, and love. Those who knew him will remember his sense of humor, his warm spirit, his encouraging words, and his deep trust in Jehovah.
Paul D. Alexis is survived by his wife, Ghislaine Alexis; children, Lovely (Nelson) Alexis-Jules, Jerry (Queenland) R. Alexis, Sandra (Jasmin) J. Alexis-Valmir, Anna (Benson) K. Alexis-Aristile, and Jonathan (Danielle) R. Alexis; grandchildren, Sara Natalie Jules, Eli Paul Alexis, Nathaniel
Joè Paul Alexis, Neiam Noel Alexis, and Ella Queen Dominique Alexis; brother, Paul Daniel (Estilia) Alexis; sisters, Marie L. Damas and Marlie "J. L." (Ernst) Polinè; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
Though we deeply feel his absence, we are comforted by the hope Jehovah gives us. As Jesus promised at John 5:28, 29, "all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." We eagerly look forward to the day when Paul will be reunited with his loved ones in the earthly paradise, where sickness, pain, and death will be no more. Until then, we are grateful for the spiritual legacy he leaves behind and the faithful example he set for all of us.
