Paul Bobrowicz, 85, of Melbourne Beach, Fla passed peacefully on July 17. He was born to Sadie Hyziak and Raymond S Bobrowicz Sr on June 19,1937 in Springfield, MA.
Paul leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Joan A Pappelardo, married on May 22,1965. A daughter Frances H Slusars, a son-in-law Edward F Slusars, two Grandchildren Corey E Slusars and Bradley P Slusars with whom he loved very much. A brother Raymond S Bobrowicz Jr and a sister Rose Daly, along with nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded by his sisters Mary Fiore and Helen Kaminski.
Paul attended Trade High School and after graduation he enlisted into the Air Force. Four years later he was honorably discharged and returned to Springfield to work at Moore Drop Forge/ Danaher Tools until he retired and moved to Melbourne Beach Fla.
He was always a sweet and caring man. Loved to tell jokes, trivia, and stories. Very competitive. All Around Athlete !! He played Class A fast pitch softball. Played catcher on the all-star team for the Air Force and back in Springfield played for Local 57. Got to play against Eddie Feigner (King and his court) and his team won. Paul also played Semi-Pro football for Springfield Acorns in Pynchon Park.
Later on he Umpired Class A fast pitch, coached a co-ed softball team and refereed basketball for Springfield Park and Recreation.
He will be greatly missed by all !! A memorial ceremony will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam in August.
