Paul David Corriher, 90, of Statesville, a dedicated family man and valued member of his community, passed away on August 21, 2025, at Iredell Memorial Hospital, following a period of declining health. Born on October 7, 1934, in Rowan County, North Carolina, Paul lived a life full of service, devotion, and love.
Paul proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1959. After completing his military service, he built a successful career as a maintenance electrician at Rental Uniforms, where his skills and work ethic were greatly appreciated.
An alumnus of Rowan County Schools, Paul maintained strong ties to his community throughout his life. He was an active member of South River Baptist Church, where he was involved in the Dan McGee Sunday School Class and enjoyed the fulfilling role of bus driver for the Senior Citizen group, demonstrating his commitment to fostering connections among those he cared for.
Paul’s legacy lives on through his loving family. He is survived by his son, Thomas Corriher (Donna); two daughters, Sheila Simmons (Jim) and Tina Brown; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a brother, James Corriher.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Arthur Corriher; mother, Rose Allman Corriher; his beloved wife, Ovanell Wagner Corriher, who passed away on March 15, 2025; a son, Paul David Corriher, Jr.; and a brother, Millard Corriher.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Paul’s life during visitation at Nicholson Funeral Home on August 25, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM with Dr. Chris Thompson officiating. Entombment will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
Paul David Corriher will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his generous spirit, and his strong commitment to serving others. His impact on the lives of those he knew will leave a lasting imprint in the hearts of many.
