Paul F. Deardurff, 70, of Belle Center, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023 in the Kindred Hospital, Lima, OH.
He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on March 1, 1952, the son of the late Franklin Elcano and Bernice (McKee) Deardurff. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Deardurff and Eugene Deardurff and two infant grandchildren.
On August 19, 1989, he married Beverly J. (Gooch) Deardurff and she survives.
He is survived by eight children: Tamara (Larry) Deardurff-Dillon of Springfield, OH, Chris (Tina) Deardurff of Belle Center, OH, Melissa Allen of Columbus, OH, Sgt. Wesley (Ashleigh) Deardurff of Fort Campbell, KY, Peggy Sue Deardurff of Dayton, OH, Joshua Norviel of Columbus, OH, Tiffany Norviel of Virginia, Jennifer (Erik) Reichert of Dayton, OH, 14 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, his siblings: Joyce Smith of Cridersville, OH and Richard Deardurff of Huntsville, and his former wife, Mary Reames.
Paul worked as an electrician at Glacier Daido / D.A.B. for 30+ years in Bellefontaine. He was a longtime member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Bellefontaine, where he served as a Deacon and as sound technician. He was a man of all traits, sweet and caring, who enjoyed music, family, and all things John Deere. He was a volunteer firefighter and EMT for the Rush Creek Township and was known as the "music man", because of the time he spent DJ'ing weddings and small parties, running sound for the Razz-M-Tazz, and the Logan Hills Festival, and then Taloga Outdoor Drama. He loved to bring the room alive with music and also played drums for the W.C.O.C.C.B.
Pastor Steve Merrin will officiate a funeral service on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. in the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Burial will be at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Deardurff family in care of Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine.
The family would like to thank all of those who have already donated money, food, and time to the Deardurff family.
