Paul Dale DeBoer, 92, of Albert Lea, MN, passed away on August 15, 2025, at St. John’s Lutheran Community- The Woodlands, with his family by his side.
Born on October 31, 1932, in Platte, South Dakota, Paul was a son of the late Harko and Jennie (Holleman) DeBoer. Paul's life was marked by hard work and a deep commitment to his family and faith. He grew up working on the family farm in Hollandale, where he cultivated crops and raised hogs.
Paul married Lois Koning on November 6, 1952, and together that shared five children: Doug, Dan, Duane, Darren, and Darla. They later divorced. On September 12, 1981, Paul was united in marriage to Kathleen Jimenez.
For nearly 35 years, he dedicated himself to Wilson Foods, where he built lasting friendships and a strong work ethic. Following his retirement, he and Kathleen became pilots for The Pro Advantage Trucking, a venture that allowed Paul to travel extensively across the country, fostering his adventurous spirit. He and Kathleen also enjoyed many trips to Mexico to visit her family. A member and Deacon at Bridge Community Church, Paul's faith was a guiding force in his life, shaping his values and the love he showed to those around him. He found great joy in fishing and created lasting memories with friends and family in the great outdoors.
Those left to cherish Paul’s memory include his beloved wife, Kathleen DeBoer; his five children, Doug DeBoer, Dan (Kathy) DeBoer, Duane (Liza) DeBoer, Darren (Carolina) DeBoer, and Darla DeBoer (Aaron Manemann); step children, Tony (Leona) Acosta and Angie (Bryan) Stadheim; grandchildren, Sandra, Romon, Margarito, Jace, Bryce, Toni, Megan, Tricia, Amanda, Gilbert, Karolynn, Kathrynn, Kaitlynn, Rose, April, Heather, Andrea, Lee, Ashley, Stacie, Seth, and Samantha; 37 great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; two sisters, Viola Eechoff and Evelyn Christians; numerous nieces and nephews, several extended family members and countless friends.
In addition to his parents, Harko and Jennie DeBoer, Paul was preceded in death by his first wife Lois (Koning) DeBoer, with whom he shared 22 years; brothers, Harko, Harold, and Wendell; sisters, Marie, Nellie, Louise, Ester, Jen, Martha, Lillian and Pearl.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Bridge Community Church, with a visitation beginning at 10:00AM. Burial will be held at Graceland Cemetery in Albert Lea. The service will be livestreamed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bridge Community Church, 2016 Bridge Avenue, Albert Lea, MN 56007.
