MORTON – Paul Eichhorn, 76, of Morton, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Paul was born on April 1, 1948, in Peoria, Illinois, to Orvil and Elizabeth (Paul) Eichhorn. He married Linda Browning, on December 7, 1974, in Peoria. She preceded him in death on June 30, 2023. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Tom Smith. Paul is survived by two sons, Paul (Amy) Eichhorn of Bellevue, Illinois and Tony (Kristi) Eichhorn of Morton; one daughter, Bethany Eichhorn of Morton; four grandchildren, Andrew Eichhorn and Jason (Katie) Eichhorn and Micah and Zach Eichhorn; one great grandson, Jedd Eichhorn; and three sisters, Sandy (Bill) Lane, Paula Smith and Jane (Pat) Beharelle. Paul was a United States Army veteran. He worked and volunteered at the South Side Mission in many roles including teaching Sunday School. Paul went on to work at and retire from Caterpillar. Paul always loved spending time with his kids, grandkids and his great grandson. He always wanted to know what was going on in his families' lives and constantly made sure they knew he loved them. He enjoyed being outside, fishing, and camping, taking his kids and grandkids with him whenever he could. He was very patient and gentle to everyone around him. His relationship with Jesus was a priority in his life and he looked forward to being with his church family. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Grace Church in Morton, with Pastor Derek Henricks and Jack Fisher officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Grace Church and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service on Friday, both at the church. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria, where military honors will be conducted. Memorials may be made to Grace Church.
