Paul N Flannigan, Jr., 57, passed away unexpectedly at his home on February 13, 2025. Born on January 15, 1968, in Jersey City, Paul was a lifelong resident of the Bayshore area, where he was known for his interesting character and handy skills.
Paul's early life was marked by the loving guidance of his mother, Eileen Flannigan, and the late Paul Flannigan, Sr., who predeceased him in 2011. He grew up alongside his brothers, Anthony and Joseph Flannigan, forming an unbreakable bond that would last a lifetime. His brother Anthony and sister-in-law Victoria, along with his nephew, Christopher, held a special place in his heart. He also leaves behind his brother Joseph and his wife Jennifer and their children, Joseph, Abigail and James. Paul cherished the relationship with his Aunt Karen and Uncle Rich Milko, who were integral parts of his extended family.
A proud graduate of Middletown High School South, Class of 1986, Paul carried the lessons of his youth throughout his life. His dedication to his career was evident in his long-standing role as a Parts Specialist at Allied Diesel Service in Freehold, where he served loyally for 25 years. His colleagues knew him as a reliable and knowledgeable professional, always ready to lend a helping hand.
Paul's interests were as diverse as they were intense. An avid sports fan, he found joy in the thrill of competition and the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts. He was a dedicated supporter of the Mets, Giants, and Rangers, his enthusiasm for his teams as infectious as it was unwavering. Paul's love for speed and precision was showcased in his younger years when he drag raced at Raceway Park in Englishtown, and later as he raced remote control racecars, a hobby that combined his technical acumen with his competitive spirit.
His membership in the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) was a testament to his passion for racing and his commitment to the community that shared his interests. Paul's political convictions were equally strong, and he was a huge supporter of President Trump, engaging in political discourse with vigor and respect.
Beyond the roar of engines and the cheer of stadiums, Paul found solace in the quiet moments spent fishing. It was in the serenity of nature that he could reflect and find peace, a contrast to the high-energy pursuits that otherwise filled his days.
Paul N Flannigan, Jr.'s journey through life was one of passion, commitment, and joy. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, but his spirit will continue to inspire those he left behind. As we say goodbye to Paul, we do so with gratitude for the time we had and the impact he made on our lives.
You are invited to pay your respects on Friday, February 21st from 4-7 pm and again on Saturday from 9-10am just prior to the funeral service at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals. The burial and Committal will follow at Bayview Cemetery.
