Sean Patrick Conway, 60, passed away on April 27, 2025, in Neptune, New Jersey. Born on September 17, 1964, in Red Bank, New Jersey, Sean lived a life marked by dedication to his family, a passion for learning and laughter, and a deep love for animals.
He was a proud graduate of Middletown High School South in the Class of 1982. Sean earned a degree in Culinary Arts from Atlantic Cape Community College in Mays Landing, NJ, and later expanded his expertise by graduating from DeVry University with a degree in IT Sciences. His educational journey reflected his diverse talents and willingness to embrace new challenges.
Sean began his professional career in the culinary world, working at several prominent Atlantic City establishments including Tropicana, Bally's Park Place, and Trump Regency. His skill and creativity in the kitchen were evident during these early years. Later in life, he transitioned into a new field and found lasting fulfillment working at Bradco Supply and Sonepar USA.
Sean was a loving husband to his wife, Dawn Laffey Conway of Middletown. He was an even better father to their two children: Evan Conway and his wife Brielyn of Manchester, NJ; and Jordan Conway Sasso and her husband Nicholas Sasso of Sparta, NJ. Sean's love for his family was boundless-he cherished every moment spent with them and took great pride in their lives.
He was known for his ever-present humor-always ready with a joke or a perfectly timed sarcastic comment that could lighten any mood. Even during times of illness, Sean remained positive and upbeat, offering strength to those around him through his resilience and wit.
Sean had many passions that brought him joy throughout his life. He loved reading epic tales like The Lord of the Rings and the Dune series. Music played an important role as well; he enjoyed attending concerts with his children and their friends-a tradition that created lasting memories. A devoted sports fan, he also relished time spent at sporting events.
Animals held a special place in Sean's heart. He adored his dogs-first Gracie and Lily, who predeceased him-and later Cricket and Clover, who remain beloved companions to the family. All animals seemed drawn to Sean's gentle spirit; they loved him as much as he loved them.
Sean was predeceased by his father James P. Conway Jr., his mother Theodora Bulwin Conway, his uncle Stephen Bulwin, as well as Gracie and Lily-his cherished canine companions.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 3rd from 2-5 pm, with a brief ceremony at 5 pm at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad Street, Red Bank, New Jersey, 07701.The family will not be accepting any flower donations. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the animal rescue of your choice in Sean's name.
Sean Patrick Conway will be remembered for the warmth he brought into every room, the laughter he shared so freely, and the love he gave so generously. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
