Paul Ernest Houde, 83, passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. He is the beloved husband of Louise M. (Dufresne) Houde with whom he shared 61 years of marriage.

Paul was born in Nashua, New Hampshire on October 17, 1941, and was the son of the late Raymond L. and Laurette A. (Bouthillier) Houde. He was a graduate of Nashua High School with the class of 1958 and obtained undergraduate degrees from St. Anselm College and Bentley (College) University, majoring in accounting. He subsequently received a graduate degree in law from Suffolk University in Boston, taking the train from Lowell, MA to attend classes. He sat for the CPA and Bar exams, passing both, and joined his father as a practicing CPA at Houde and Company Professional Association, where he continued to work through the end of his life.

Paul was a man of many passions and deep convictions, known for his courageous and adventurous spirit, gregarious personality and unwavering dedication to his family and his career. A history enthusiast with a memory for details, Paul was an avid reader and a warm and engaging storyteller, particularly when it came to family lore. A faithful Roman Catholic and longtime parishioner at St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Nashua, he lived his values fully.

As a younger man, Paul found joy in flying his Cessna 210 444RW with family and fellow pilot friends. He later spent many weekends sailing the waters of Cape Cod and cruising the harbors of Jamestown, RI with his wife, Louise. But his great love was spending time at the family cottage in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, which was built in the 1950s by his parents. The "lake" as it is referred to by the family, held a special place in his heart, serving as a cherished retreat. Above all, however, it was the time spent with his beloved wife and family that brought him the greatest joy.

In addition to his wife, Louise, he is survived by his three children, Peter and his wife Betsy of Nashua, James and his wife Jeannine of Merrimack, and Irene and her husband Chris Schofield of Hollis, Maine; his six grandchildren, Rebekkah, Grace, Madelyn, Michael, Jordan, and Joshua. He is also survived by his 12 great-grandchildren, Eliza, Dakota, Lillian, Micah, MJ, Israel, Baylen, Zarie, Penny, Emme, Mia and Blair.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Raymond Houde, his aunt, Sister Alida Houde of the Sisters of Holy Cross and uncle, Father Paul Houde O.S.B., a monk of Saint Anselm Abbey.

Relatives and friends are invited to Paul's visitation on MONDAY, September 8th from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM in St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 777 W Hollis Street, Nashua. His funeral Mass will be held in the church at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow in St. Louis Cemetery, Nashua. Arrangements under the care of ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ANCTIL-ROCHETTE.com
