Paul Huber grew up in Northwest Detroit. He was very proud of his catholic education from Gesu Grade School, to University of Detroit Jesuit High School and finally University of Detroit. Because of his catholic education, he always had a soft spot for the IHM Sisters, even the ones that rapped his knuckles in grade school. Paul graduated with an engineering degree and spent 30 years at General Motors, mostly in manufacturing. He also started his own company, Paul Huber & Associates, which represented various small manufacturers.
Paul moved to Bloomfield Hills in 1966 and became an active member at St. Hugo of the Hills Church where he enjoyed being an usher. Paul was a phenomenal photographer which started in high school when he was a photographer for the yearbook. He loved taking pictures at family weddings and other events. At age 65, Paul decided to get his pilot's license. He loved to fly and would often go to the airport to 'see the guys'. Paul also loved to golf and was a member at Stonycroft Golf Club. He once won a car at a charity outing with a hole in one! He was an active runner well into his seventies.
Paul was the loving husband of the late Nancy. Beloved father of Nancy A. Huber (Rick Gjestvang), Thomas Huber, and the late John Huber. Dear brother of the late Margaret "Susie" Boka and the late Patricia Knudsen. Special friend of Jill Washburn, Don Henderson and Bridget Marie Henderson.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 28, from 2-8pm. Scripture service at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 29, at St. Hugo of the Hills Stone Chapel, 2215 Opdyke Road, Bloomfield Hills, 48304.
Memorial tributes are suggested to U of D Jesuit High, IHM Sisters, or the charity of donor's choice.
