Paul Labosky, 95, formerly of Johnson City and Apalachin, NY, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2024 in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Paul was born in Olyphant, PA, one of 9 children to Kathryn (Semonick) and George Labosky. Paul's journey was marked by unwavering love, a remarkable work ethic, and a steadfast commitment to his faith. Paul's legacy is carried forward by his adoring family. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Caroline (Cruise), and his cherished granddaughter, Emily Ann. His memory will be honored and celebrated by his children: Jane and her husband Phil Hores, Graham, NC, Diane and her husband Mark Cleveland, Ovid, NY, Karen and her husband David Catallozzi, Shrewsbury, MA, Matthew and his wife Colleen, Binghamton, NY and Timothy and his wife Amy, Apalachin, NY; 13 grandchildren: Jessica and her husband Steve, Janelle and her husband David, Jacquelyn and her husband Ben, Jennifer and her husband Chris, Evan, Ryan, Melissa and her husband Zachary, Anthony and his wife Meghan, Megan, Kathryn, Aleksander, Nicholas and Tess; 12 great-grandchildren: Elliott, Frannie, Clara, Caroline, Lando, Elle, Emmitt, Grace, Madeline, Rosie, Cecilia and Vanessa; brother Joseph and his wife Linda Labosky, and sister Martha and her husband Dale Farwell; many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Throughout his life, Paul exemplified the virtues of hard work and skill. His career was a testament to his expertise and dedication, as he made significant contributions to the electrical contracting field. As a Licensed Master Electrician, member of IBEW 325, and owner of Blanding Electric, Inc. for over 20 years, he held many offices for the Southern Tier Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association and served as long-time Director and Vice Chairman for the New York Association of Electrical Contractors. Above all, Paul was a man of deep faith. His faith-filled nature was a cornerstone of his existence, guiding him through the trials of life and instilling in him a profound sense of peace and purpose. He was an active member of All Saints' Episcopal Church, Johnson City, NY, and St. Paul's Episcopal Church, New Smyrna Beach, FL. A Celebration of Life liturgy will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 10:00 am at All Saints' Episcopal Church, 475 Main Street, Johnson City. Burial will immediately follow in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends at Barber Memorial Home, 428 Main Street, Johnson City on Friday, September 20, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Paul's name to any of the following organizations which were important to him: All Saints' Episcopal Church, Johnson City, NY; St. Paul's Episcopal Church, New Smyrna Beach, FL; American Diabetes Association; or Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. As we bid farewell to Paul, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a journey completed with honor. We take solace in knowing that his spirit remains alive in the hearts of his family and all those he touched. While we mourn his passing, we also rejoice in the countless memories and enduring legacy he leaves behind.
