Chassell Paul Lampinen, 73, a resident of Chassell, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025, at his home following a lengthy illness.
He was born on November 13, 1951, in Hancock, a son of the late Roy and Dorothy (Golden) Lampinen. Paul was raised in Chassell and was a graduate of the Chassell High School with the class of 1969. He then attended Suomi College and Michigan Technological University.
Mr. Lampinen was a veteran, having served with the United States Army in Europe.
Following this service, Paul was united in marriage to Gayle Kotila. The couple has resided in the Chassell area since that time.
Paul had a long career with Superior National Bank, spanning 30 years. During that time he attended the School of Banking at the University of Madison.
Mr. Lampinen was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church of Chassell, the Upper Peninsula Quarter Horse Association, a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and he enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and working on his farm. Paul was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his brothers: Butch and Dave.
Surviving are: His wife: Gayle Lampinen; His sisters: Gail Gulas, Sue (Jim) Nutini, Karen (Jim) Carlson; Several nieces, nephews and cousins
A Mass of Christian Burial for Paul will be held 11:00 am Monday, October 6, 2025, at St. Anne's Catholic Church of Chassell. Burial will be in the Chassell Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the Memorial Chapel Funeral & Cremation Service - Chassell Chapel.
