Paul C. Lauver, 87, of Mifflintown, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born on April 4, 1938, in Lewistown, Mifflin County, he is a son of the late Chester and Freda (Graybill) Lauver. On December 18, 1960, he married his surviving wife, Shirley (Long) Lauver with whom he was blessed to share over 64 years of marriage before his passing. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jerry Lauver and his wife Wanda and Randy Lauver; two grandchildren, Derek Lauver and his wife Hannah and Destinee Varner and her husband Jonas; and three great grandchildren, Dawson and Emery Varner and Goldie Lauver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Roy Lauver, Goldie Hoffman, Larry Lauver, and Celo Lauver making him the last of his generation. Mr. Lauver was employed and retired with over 30 years of service to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection as a Road and Bridge Inspector. His memberships included the Lost Creek Mennonite Church, Mifflintown, and was a life member of the N.R.A. He enjoyed trap shooting; was an avid hunter and fisherman; and loved the outdoors, going on annual family fishing trips to Canada, going to the Outer Banks in North Carolina, and was a faith volunteer and board member at Abundant Blessings in Mifflintown, where he tested electrical appliances; however, his greatest joy came from time spent with his family, especially his grandkids. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 11th, 2025, at the Lost Creek Mennonite Church, 2682 Long Road, Mifflintown with Pastor Chad Weaver and Pastor Chris Mummau officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of the funeral services at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Lauver's memory can be made to Abundant Blessings, 22 Abundant Blessing Drive, Mifflintown, PA 17059. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown. Online condolences and tributes can be shared with the family at www.brownfuneralhomesinc.com.
