Paul Maury Logue, 101, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, in Thornton, Colorado. A centenarian whose life spanned more than a century of remarkable change and progress, Paul lived with curiosity, dedication, and a deep commitment to learning and service. Born on January 23, 1924, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Paul was the son of Paul Logue (1895–1992) and Mary Wheeler Maury Logue (1900–1997). He grew up during the Great Depression and came of age during World War II—formative experiences that shaped his resilience and sense of purpose. From an early age, Paul demonstrated a keen intellect and a passion for knowledge. His academic journey was both broad and ambitious. He pursued studies in engineering, medicine, physics, and chemistry at several esteemed institutions: Washington University, Indiana University, Harding College, and St. John's College. This diverse educational background reflected his insatiable curiosity and laid the foundation for a distinguished professional life. Paul served in the United States Army from 1946 to 1949 as a demolitions specialist. His military service exemplified his courage and technical skill during a pivotal time in American history. Following his service, Paul embarked on a long and successful career with Bell Labs and AT&T. His work contributed to some of the most significant technological advancements of the twentieth century. Known for his precision and analytical mind, he earned the respect of colleagues across decades of innovation in telecommunications. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Paul led a rich personal life filled with adventure and creativity. He was a licensed private pilot who found joy in the freedom of flight. An expert marksman, he approached every pursuit with discipline and focus. In later years, he turned his attention to winemaking and coffee roasting—crafts that allowed him to blend science with artistry. Paul shared nearly five decades of marriage with Elaine Guariglia Logue (1946–2022), his beloved wife of 49 years. Together they built a life grounded in mutual respect and shared interests. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Christine Hoen and her husband George Hoen. Paul's legacy lives on through them and through all who were fortunate enough to know him. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother William Rutledge Logue (1928–2012); and his wife Elaine. A man of intellect, integrity, and quiet strength, Paul Maury Logue leaves behind a legacy defined by lifelong learning, service to country, professional excellence, personal passion and love of family. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
