Paul Maiorana

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Paul Maiorana who passed away suddenly on August 12, 2025 at the age of 72 at his home in Stafford, VA with his wife Benesa at his side.
Born on September 8, 1952 in Boston MA, Paul was known for his kindness of heart, thoughtful character, his passion for music, and love for his family and Italian heritage pronounced correctly (My-o-rana).
He had an enthusiastic fervor for the arts, Boston sports, US/DC politics, international travel and he was a voracious reader. Paul was a Graduate of Franklin High School and schooled at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Scholar and Graduate of The Massachusetts Society of Respiratory Care.
Paul will be deeply missed by his wife, Benesa; his sisters and brothers, Jane and Kevin Kelley, Susan and Tom Sullivan, Lee Maiorana, "Michelle" Maiorana (Shelley) and Carlos De-Dios; his mother-in law, Neck Alde; and his sister-in-law, Nancy Maiorana (Scott). He also leaves behind his many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; including his more recent pen pal grandniece and musician Wendy MacLeay.
He was predeceased by his loving mother, Sonny; father, Tom; brothers, Tom, Terrance, Allen, and Scott.
Paul also leaves many decades long friendships, very recently visiting Ricky, Subrina and Peter Mac. Claudia, Kat and many more who were very dear to Paul.
Some favorite memories of Paul are his drumming in The Third Estate at Franklin High School dances. Paul would always be found tapping his fingers and feet simultaneously 24/7. At his core, he was a drummer. Many of us enjoyed Sox games and Boston sports venues with Paul from Fenway to Camden Yards in Baltimore. Most of all though, his love for music of all genres and small venue concerts was his go to fix. He could occasionally be found loving good Italian food, pizza, his lemoncello, and cookies from Girado's bakery.
Paul stayed close to his loved ones with many cards, letters, and very personalized gifting. He used email to stay even closer with his closet loved ones on a very regular basis and we cherished our time with him at the holidays or during vacation time.
Paul was a giver, he made his career about serving others, having worked for one of the most prestigious health systems in the USA Inova Health System and more recently in his semi retirement Stafford Hospital. Paul was a very skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist who provided advanced care for patients from premature infant complex cases in the ICU to geriatric patients receiving palliative care who need love, empathy and emotional support together with respiratory care.
We love you Paul and will always miss you.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours Saturday October 25th, in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. from 1-3PM.
