Paul Monsour, 75 of Morganfield, passed away on July 29, 2025. Paul was a 1969 graduate of Flaget High School in Louisville, a 1971 graduate of Jefferson Community College in Louisville, and a 1973 graduate of the University of Kentucky in Lexington with a bachelor degree in Journalism. He worked for over 30 years in journalism serving two stints each at the Sturgis News and Union County Advocate. Since 2005, he was an employee of Union County serving in various roles. Paul was very active in his community and church. He was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Ann Catholic Church in Morganfield, a member of the Morganfield City Council, Union County Chamber of Commerce, Third and Fourth degree Knights of Columbus, the Morganfield Lions Club, and the Morganfield Housing Authority Board.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nash and Ann Monsour, and one brother, Nash Monsour.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathy, of Morganfield. Three sons, Matthew of Owensboro, John (Sierra) of Henderson, and William of Evansville. One brother, Michael (Roula) of Atlanta, seven sisters, Marquita (Roger) Metry, Barbara Hughes, Rita Vettiner, and Christina Monsour, all of Louisville as well as Regina Monsour and Michelle Monsour of Chicago, and Tanya (Tom) Stager of Ft. Michell, KY. Two brother-in laws Frank Mathis & Gary Messmore of Henderson, KY. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
The service will be 11AM Saturday, August 2, 2025 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Morganfield with burial to follow in St. Ann cemetery. The visitation will be 4-8PM Friday with rosary beginning at 6 PM and 9AM until service time on Saturday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield. There will be a bereavement meal to follow in the St. Ann parish hall. Memorial contributions can be made to Knights of Columbus Durbin Council 1004, 418 S. Church St., Morganfield, KY 42437 or St. Ann Catholic Church, 304 S. Church St., Morganfield, KY 42437.
