I met Paul in 4th grade at St. Catherine of Sienna in Oak Park, IL. He was very friendly and told me he would show me "the ropes"for a candy bar. He seemed to know when new kids entered the school - which I couldn't figure out. Then one day I saw him sharing a candy bar with a nun. AHAH that was his source! So I used the info to get better grades. We used to caddy at Butterfield Country Club. I remember one day his Dad telling me that Paul was still asleep and he probably wouldn't be caddying that day. I think he was sick from eating too many candy bars. We both went to Fenwick High School and then Paul went to Notre Dame and I went to DePaul. We hadn't seen each other for many years but we reconnected at our 25th grade school reunion. From that point on we played golf and tennis on a regular basis. That is when I discovered that Paul was not perfect! He loved to call balls out in tennis when they were clearly in and when Stella Artois was not on tap in a restaurant he wasn't happy. Despite these "faults" he was a good friend over the years.
Recently I saw him at the Golden Gates. He told me he would get me in for 1/2 a truck of candy bars - I am not sure of this. Have decided to hedge my bets - praying harder!
My Sympathies to his entire family,
Larry Holmes

I met Paul while he was defending the Tylenol cases. I was a rather young associate representing Jewel. He was the ultimate professional in the courtroom and a great role model. We remained friends over the years. St Pet's and Glen Ellyn will miss his spirt and smile. Peace to his family, and I hope he's in tune as he enters the heavenly gates.

Uncle Paul really knew how to light up a room! His charisma, charm and beautiful blue eyes and smile was infectious! His zest for life, deep love of family and his faith is something I will remember him for forever. RIP Uncle Paul. You were one in a million

I have known Paul for many years. He married my husband and I 22 years ago. I extend my deepest condolences to Peggy and all the family. An Irish blessing for all of you.
Feel no guilt in laughter
Feel no guilt in laughter, he´d know how much you care.
Feel no sorrow in a smile that he is not here to share.
You cannot grieve forever; he would not want you to.
He´d hope that you could carry on the way you always do.
So, talk about the good times and the way you showed you cared.
The days you spent together, all the happiness you shared.
Let memories surround you, a word someone may say will suddenly recapture a time an hour, a day, that brings him back as clearly as though he were still here and fills you with the feeling that he is always near.
For if you keep those moments, you will never be apart and he will live forever locked safely within your heart.
- an Irish Blessing
With deepest condolences, love and respect

Mr. Noland was my very first little league baseball coach and my best friend´s (Bart) dad.
My best childhood memories are those countless weekend sleepovers at the Noland house. One of which I will never forget as Mr Noland woke us up in the predawn hours to inform us a freight train carrying poison chlorine gas had derailed near my house about a mile west of the Noland´s and that my parents and my aunt and uncle who were visiting from NY were on their over as they had been evacuated!
What a night/day that was!
From the countless Glen Ellyn little league opening day parades (as a proud member of the tee ball Swordfish to the fast pitch Robins) I will never forget how Mr Noland taught me the proper way to throw a fastball.
We moved back to NY in 1978 but I was lucky enough to reconnect with The Noland´s in 2011 when we were in town over the July 4th week.
Being in that house again and watching a CUBS game with Mr Noland was beyond priceless.
Thank you Mr Noland for all the phenomenal memories!
