Paul J. Perruzzi Sr. was born in Newton on November 5, 1934, and passed away peacefully at home on May 25, 2024. He was the oldest son of the late P. Paul Perruzzi and Anna (Mosca) Perruzzi. Paul graduated from Our Lady's High School in 1953 and attended Northeastern University with a full football scholarship. He served in the Air National Guard before enlisting in the U.S. Army from 1953-1956. For 51 years, he was the beloved husband of the late Jane (Gorgone) Perruzzi, who passed away in 2015. He was a loving father to Paul Perruzzi Jr. of Westford and his wife Patricia, and to Lisa (Perruzzi) Rizza of West Wareham and her fiancé Christopher McGowen. He was the proud grandfather to Domani Rizza of Wareham, Paul Perruzzi III, and Angelica Perruzzi of Westford. Paul was predeceased by his late brothers, Richard Perruzzi, of Milford, and Francis Perruzzi of Newton. He is also survived by his brother Robert Perruzzi, and his wife Anne of Watertown, and Richard's wife Delores Perruzzi of Milford along with many nieces, nephews' cousins, and friends.

Paul's life was a testament to his priorities: God, Family, and Country. He never took anything for granted and always counted his blessings. Paul's warm smile and love for family and friends were a constant source of joy. His passion for learning and diverse hobbies, including stained glass, winemaking (and tasting), building telescopes, and traveling with his late wife, brought him immense joy. He was a member of the American Legion, was an avid reader with a keen interest in U.S. and world history. But it was Paul's generous nature and unwavering willingness to help others that truly set him apart. He was always open to new adventures and often said, 'We only pass this way but once.'

Family and friends will gather to honor Paul's life on Tuesday, June 4th, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Magni Funeral Home in Newton. His Funeral Mass will take place at Corpus Christi-St. Bernard Parish, 1523 Washington St, West Newton on Wednesday, June 5th, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Following the Mass, entombment will be held at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum in Waltham.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
