Paul Michael 'Moose' Scantlen
July 8th,1967- January 18th,2024
Paul Michael 'Moose' Scantlen, 56 years old, of Liberty Hill, Tx Passed away suddenly in his home on January 18th, 2024. His passing was completely unexpected. Mike was born on July 8th, 1967 to Bill and Geraldean Scantlen in Austin, Tx, He attended
Leander High School, Class of "85".
After graduating he continued to work for Allen's Pool Service and Allen's Towing. He started his career in the oil field as a mechanic for Clayton Oilfield Services where he was employed until a family illness called him back home. He then moved careers in 91' when he
started his 36 year career in underground utilities as a supervisor and then superintendent. In his 36 year career he worked for CCI(Liberty Hill), Royal Vista(Liberty Hill), Austin Bridge and Road (Austin, Tx), WPM Austin, Tx), and found his forever work home
with JC Communications(LibertyHill).
In 1989 Moose met his life partner, Wendy Hall, in a pool hall via mutual friends. Moose and Wendy went on to marry in May of 1990 and had one daughter, Mikelann 'Mikie' Scantlen (29) of Liberty Hill. 'Moose' also had a step-daughter, Skylor Hall (19) of Liberty Hill. 'Moose' is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Geraldean Scantlen of Round Rock, Tx, Grandmother, Bernice Carroll of Georgetown, Tx, Aunt and Uncle, Norene and Ray Boltinghouse of Turkey Bend, Father-In-Law, Billy Hall of Pflugerville, Tx, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
'Moose' is survived by his Life Partner, Wendy Scantlen, his Daughter, Mikelann 'Mikie' Scantlen, Daughter-in-Law, Kaitlin 'Kat' Barajas, his Step-Daughter, Skylor Hall, Mother-in-Law, Chris King, Sister-in-Law, Joy Sterkel, Niece, Emma Joy Sterkel, Grandchildren, Makenleigh Falk and Dean Martin, as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.
'Moose' was a very active person, he loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, being with his friends, standing by the fire, drinking a beer with his 4 legged girls, Dustee and Missee, or just being around his new home.
'Moose' had a heart of gold, there was never a stranger he met, his friends were his extended family. He was always a phone call away, he would do anything for his friends and family. He was a deeply devoted Husband, Father, and Friend, his laugh and smile were contagious and will live on forever in our hearts and minds.
Visitation services will be held at Beck Funeral Home in Cedar Park, Tx on Friday, January 26th, 2024 from 6:00pm-8:00pm, open to the public. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Post Tavern in Cedar Park, Tx at 4pm, please feel free to join us in honoring the beautiful life of 'Moose' Scanten. Benefit details hosted by JC Communication to come.
In Lieu of Flower the family request a donation be made to any wildlife charity in Moose's name. Your smile and laugh we will hold forever and always. May you Rest in Peace our Big Teddy Bear, We Love You and Miss You Everyday.
