Paula Mathers Boyd, beloved late wife of John Boyd, grandmother and friend to many, passed away on June 2nd, 2024 in Austin, Texas.
Paula was a woman of unwavering strength and boundless love. Her life revolved around her family; she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Paula's legacy lives on through her loving grandchildren: Bryan Ellis (Tiffany), Hannah Grothues (Wayne), Heath Gattis (Keri), Brent Gattis (Megan), Michael Boyd (Jessica), Colby Boyd (Nicole), Paige Boyd, Adam Boyd, Emily Boyd; as well as her adoring great grandchildren all of whom she loved dearly.
Paula dedicated nearly five decades of her life to working for the Goodnight family. To Paula, they were more than just employers; they were her second family.
When she wasn't working, Paula found joy in the simple things - watching NCIS and Law & Order brought her immense pleasure. She also enjoyed challenging herself with crossword puzzles which showcased her sharp mind.
Paula will be remembered for so much more than just these details though - she leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
In honoring Paula's memory let us remember the way she lived - with grace, humility and unconditional love for those around her. Though our hearts ache at the thought of living without such an incredible soul among us physically - we find solace knowing that Paula is now at peace.
May we carry forward the lessons taught by this remarkable woman as we navigate through life without one of its brightest lights guiding our way.
A public visitaiton will be held 5:00PM -8:00PM Thursday June 13, 2024 at Harrell Funeral Homes in Austin. A funeral service will be held 10:00AM Friday June 14th at Harrell funeral homes. A burial will follow at Forest Oaks Memorial parks.
