Paula Jeanne Hopping, born August 23, 1967, in Morristown, NJ, at All Souls Hospital passed away. A longtime resident of the Troy and Rensselaer area. Paula was a force of life - smart, passionate and funny.
She was the devoted mother of Saira Sher, Donna Hopping, and Zulaiha Musto. She was the proud grandmother of Ezekiel (Zeke) Cooney-her "Grandman".
She is survived by her mother Alice Head and Pete Head, her brother Robert Kennedy and sister-in-law Diane, sisters Leslieanne Hopping and Kelley Aragon.
She is also survived by nephews Michael Stoeckeler and wife Benie, Gavin Kennedy, niece Cora Scheriff and husband Hunter.
She is also survived by cousins and their families. A lifelong friend to many. She is predeceased by her beloved father Paul Eugene Hopping.
Paula studied mortuary science at Hudson Valley Community College and had a deep abiding faith. She regularly read the Bible and shared the word of God with anyone who would listen. She had a huge heart open to all, including the many stray cats she took in over the years.
She found comfort in simple joys-long baths, bike rides, and the company of those she loved. Her presence was larger than life, and her absence leaves an immeasurable void. She will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local animal shelter in her honor, as she never turned away a cat in need.
