Mrs. Paula West Johnson, 68, of Graham, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 21, 2025.
Paula was born April 30, 1956 in Ft. Worth, TX to Edgar Paul West and Betty Jean Douthit West. She attended Southern Alamance High School where she was Valedictorian of her graduating class. She retired after 29 years of service with American Airlines International. Her love of travel continued after her retirement, and she enjoyed trips with her husband, Terry, to Oregon, Vermont, the Florida Keys, Hawaii, and many other places. In her free time, Paula was an avid reader and also loved horses. Above all, family meant the most to her and she adored her children, grandchildren, and great grandchild.
Paula is survived by her husband of 51 years, Terry Johnson; daughters, Kimberly Lynds and husband Mike of Wilmington, Ashley Mitchell and husband Trey of Saxapahaw, and Jaime Moyer and husband Keith of Eli Whitney; grandchildren, Grayson, Alayna, Aubrey, Samantha, Savannah, and Sabrina; great-grandson, Adonis; father, Rev. Paul West; and sisters, Donna Black and husband Kenny of Graham and Anita Wilson and husband Danny of Mebane. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Jean Douthit West.
A celebration of Paula’s life will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at 2:00PM at Mt. Olive Baptist Church by Rev. Perry Hardison. The family will receive friends from 12:45-1:45PM prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
