Pauline V. "Gram" Bohane passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her extended family on Friday November 21, 2025. Pauline is survived by her daughters Colleen Hamlin and Jaqueline Derrick, sons Neil E. Bohane, William P. Bohane(Nicole), Matthew J. Bohane(MaryKate), Steven T. Bohane and Timothy P. Bohane(Colleen), her brother Gerard McAuliffe, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Cornelius J. Bohane, and her son Michael K Bohane, her sister Babara MacAuliffe, and her brother Kevin B. McAuliffe.
Pauline was born in Boston and was the daughter of the late Paul J. and Helen V. (Bailey) McAuliffe. She was the oldest of four children. Pauline was a 1952 graduate of Cathedral High School in Boston. After graduation, Pauline was an employee of the New England Telephone Company before marrying Cornelius and starting her family.
Throughout her life, Pauline was a very generous, patient, and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, sister-in-law, mentor, and friend. Her life revolved around her family, acting as a steady source of wisdom, guidance, and strength during the good and the bad times. She made countless sacrifices for her children and extended family, always putting herself last. Pauline had a nurturing nature, taking immense pride in caring for her children and extended family, always extending her warmth to those around her. Pauline found happiness in cooking, gardening, reading, knitting, finding the next bargain at her favorite thrift shop, and spending time with her family. Nothing brought her more happiness than her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her four-legged protector, Ashley, each one a source of immense pride and joy.
Pauline lived a rich and fulfilling life marked by dignity, grace, and resilience. She was wise, determined and pragmatic, always a calm and steady presence.
Visiting hours are from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM with a prayer service to follow on Thursday December 4, 2025, at Chapman Funeral Home, 58 Long Pond Drive, South
Yarmouth, MA 02664. Burial to follow at Chandler Grey Cemetery in
West Yarmouth, Ma.
