Pauline was born on January 1, 1923 in Indiana to George and Pansyata (Stevens) Chavels. Pauline married John "Jack" Collins on October 4, 1947 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Detroit. Pauline sang light opera at the Masonic Temple in Detroit, Michigan. Pauline was a dedicated mother and loved spending time with her family and raising her children, she will be greatly missed. XO
Beloved wife of the late John "Jack" Collins; loving mother of Marc (Kathy) Collins and Julia (Jim) Walker; adored grandmother of Jason (Dede), Val (Kevin), Vince (Melissa), Dan (Carrie), the late Katherine, Ryan (Aleena), Lori,Candi (Jim) and Travis (Shannon); great-grandmother of Kenny (Kelsea)Michael, Brooklyn, Luke, Sophia, Grayce, Emma, Elayna, Harrison, Grant, Madison, Kennedy, Marlo and Baby Girl due in October; and cherished sister of the late Joan Chavel, the late Sophia (the late Pete) Genacanyon and the late Samuel Chavels. Pauline is also survived by many extended family members.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 21, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to the 10:00 a.m. funeral service at Hauss-Modetz Funeral Home, 47477 Romeo Plank, Macomb.
Memorial contributions can be made to the family c/o Marc Collins, to be donated to The Retreat at Gaffney, the assisted living facility that took such wonderful care of Pauline.
