Obituary published on Legacy.com by Arnold Funeral Home - Canton on Dec. 12, 2025.
Pauline Frances (Linn) Limbach passed away on December 8, 2025 at Pickerington Methodist Hospital in
Pickerington, Ohio. Pauline (Polly) was born on October 23, 1934 to the late Pearson and Dorothy (Spiegel) Linn of
Bucyrus, Ohio. After graduating from Holmes Liberty High School, Pauline attended Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio where she studied music education and met her future husband and the love of her life, Carl Edward "Ed" Limbach. They married on June 18,1955 and moved to Hartville, Ohio. Pauline completed her bachelor's degree in music at Mount Union College in 1956. Polly and Ed had 49 wonderful years of marriage before Ed's passing on June 6, 2004.
Polly and Ed spent their early years raising three active daughters and building two family businesses, Limbach Contractors and North Canton Recreation. Polly taught piano lessons and managed the bowling alley until it closed in 1993. She was a great bowler who cherished the many friends she made while participating in many bowling leagues as well as state and national tournaments. She also supported Ed in building the Limbach Contractors business. Polly's greatest accomplishment was being a loving wife and mother to their three daughters. Tragically, their oldest daughter, Susan Faye Limbach, died from Hodgkins lymphoma on June 26, 1975, shortly after graduating from high school. Polly's deep faith and incredible strength was evident during this difficult time.
As a longtime resident of Hartville and North Canton, Polly was a devout Christian and attended the Hartville United Church of Christ and St. Jacobs Community Church for many years, serving as the organist and singing in the choir. Pauline lived a Jesus centered life and spread God's word every day through her prayers, phone calls and text messages to her family and friends.
Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, Pearson and Dorothy (Spiegel) Linn, and her in-laws Carl R. and Zelma Limbach; her husband, Carl Edward Limbach and their beloved daughter, Susan Faye Limbach. Pauline is also preceded in death by her sister, Mrs. Marian Huggins and Dr. Tom Huggins and her brother-in-law, Mr. Kenneth Taylor and sister-in-law Velma Jane Limbach.
Pauline leaves behind many friends and loved ones to cherish memories of her including her two daughters, Linda/Timothy Kelly and Carla/Jeff Peters. Pauline's legacy also includes her five grandchildren who loved her deeply: Kevin Gregory/Mallory Peters, Brian Edward Peters, and Kaitlin Susan (Peters)/Scott Hartley, Courtney Linn Kelly and Makenzie Reed Kelly. As a special Great Grammy, Polly leaves on this earth her five great grandchildren: Sloan and Blair Peters, Charlie, Abby,
and "Baby" Hartley to be born in February 2026. Also cherishing many memories is her oldest sister, Mrs. Joy Taylor, her brother-in-law, Walter R. (Joan Engle) Limbach and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pauline moved to
Pickerington, Ohio in 2012 to be closer to her daughters and their families and has enjoyed going to school and athletic events and has made many friends in the Spring Creek Condo Community. In recent years, she has loved playing cards with her friends, and had many hobbies including knitting, playing the piano, doing jigsaw puzzles and sharing God's word through her daily text messages and prayers with family and friends. Polly was loved for her huge heart, beautiful soul and for being a great listener and loving friend. She endured a lot of adversity over the years, but always demonstrated strength, courage and faith throughout her 91 years on this earth. She has always lived life to the fullest and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
