It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the passing of Pauline "Peggy" E. Treppa (76), born Pauline Gebauer on March 11th, 1948. Peggy passed on, November 12th, 2024, peacefully surrounded by her family. Peggy was a woman of remarkable strength, unwavering determination, and boundless love, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege to know her. She has been reunited in heaven with her parents, Julius and Alyce (nee Pigg) Gebauer, and many other loved ones.
A beacon of kindness and acceptance, Peggy was the embodiment of what it means to love unconditionally. She had the rare gift of making those around her feel valued, seen, and understood. Whether as a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, mentor, often referred to as "Grandma Glasses", "Pompe", "The Pompe", "Lake Grandma", "Gram" and "Grandma Peg". She embraced all with a warmth that made them feel like they mattered-because to Peggy, they truly did.
Her strength was not just physical but emotional, mental, and spiritual. Through every challenge she faced, she met it with grace and resilience, never wavering in her commitment to her loved ones or her own principles. She taught those around her that love and courage were more powerful than fear, and that a determined heart could overcome any obstacle.
As a mother, Peggy was the heart and soul of her family, offering endless love, guidance, and support to her children. She is survived by her beloved children, Lori (Ronald) Rospierski, Brian (Beth) Treppa, and Heather (Doug) Rawlins. She found great joy in watching her children build families of their own, and her love only grew with the arrival of her cherished grandchildren: Alec (Natalie) Rospierski, Trenton (Morgan Cote) Treppa, Nicholas Folkerts, Abigail Folkerts, Tiffany Treppa, Leah Rospierski and Brandon (Heather) Scovoronski. She embraced each of them with the same warmth, encouragement, and devotion that she shared with her own children, creating lasting memories and offering wisdom that will carry through generations.
In addition to her children and grandchildren, Peggy is also survived by her sister, Martha Kent (the late Len Morrison), sister-in-law Winnie (the late Jerry) Gebauer, nieces Jennye (Tim) Schroeder, Helene (the late Jay) Slaven, Maria Ryda, nephews Ted Gebauer, Jim (Denise) Devine, David (Cindy) Kent, and Dennis (Shannon) Kent, and many dear friends who were all blessed to know her love and friendship. She was preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law Leona and James Devine and a brother Jerry Gebauer. Her passing leaves a hole in the hearts of all who loved her, but her spirit will live on in the lives of her family and all who were fortunate enough to call her a friend.
In her many years as a nurse, Peggy was a constant source of support, joy, and inspiration. She had many roles throughout her career, finishing as a beloved Hospice nurse. She shared her wisdom with everyone, and whether it was through a kind word, a shared laugh, or a comforting embrace, she made her loved ones feel like they were never alone. She nurtured the relationships she held dear, creating lasting bonds with friends, family, and colleagues alike. On top of her fulfilling career, she was everyone's biggest cheerleader and never absent when it mattered.
A celebration of life will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, with a memorial service at 5:00 PM, Friday December 6, 2024 at the Algonac Lions Club 1905 Mill St. Clay Twp, MI 48001. Arrangements by the Young Gilbert Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. Algonac.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Blue Water Hospice Home 2795 Edison Marysville, MI 48040, in her honor, reflecting Peggy's deep passion for caring for others.
Though she may no longer walk among us, the love and strength she shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Rest in peace, Peggy. Your spirit lives on in each of us, forever our Sunshine.
