Peggy Ann McGuire, 82 of Independence, Mo passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at the Centerpoint Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel with burial to follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m., until service time Wednesday at the chapel.
Peggy was born June 13, 1943 in Independence, Mo to Dowell and Gladys (Beeler) Lentz. She was a lifelong Independence resident having graduated from Van Horn High School in 1961.
She had worked at an LPN for Independence Regional Hospital for over 20 years and later for the Independence School District before she retired.
She was an avid quilter and was a member of many quilting clubs and guilds and was very knowledgeable on the history of quilting.
She was a member of the RLDS church and later a member of the Methodist church and had later attended some non-denominational churches.
She is survived by; her husband, Clyde McGuire of the home; 2 sons, Colin McGuire and Mark McGuire both of Independence, MO and a grandson, Jake McGuire of Independence, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Charles Lentz and a sister, Nora Amato.
