Peggy Rudasill Stephens

Peggy Rudasill Stephens was born in Old Milton County in Birmingham Community on January 23, 1929 to William Aubrey (Buck) Rudasill and Addie Lou Weatherford Rudasill. Peggy died peacefully on August 18, 2025 at the Oaks Assisted Living Community in Alpharetta. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Harold Andrew Stephens. They celebrated 75 years of marriage before his death on December 25, 2022. Peggy's and Harold's home was Alpharetta on Canton Street for those 75 years. Peggy resided in Alpharetta for the 96 years of her life with a brief move to Richmond, Virginia with her parents during the Depression. Peggy is survived by two children Judy Stephens Sanderson (Brad) and Harold Michael (Mike) Stephens; two grandsons, Brenton T (Brent) Sanderson and Andrew Michael (Andy) Stephens; four great grandchildren, Brody T. Sanderson, Laney A. Sanderson, Chase C. Sanderson and Harper A. Stephens. Peggy lived a life of total dedication to family. Her love and support for her family continued until her death and was shown through many after church Sunday lunches, birthday parties, picnics at the cabin, and always being present and available for support. Because of her family's closeness both in heart and proximity, Peggy's simple, clean but rich way of life was shared regularly with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her reputation of a beautiful lady both inside and out, one who loved fashion, her youthful appearance and heart, being consistently devoted to family, and always being an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother is her legacy. Her 96 years of honesty, fairness, fun, laughter and devotion to family will be remembered for many more years by her friends and family. The Stephens family will receive friends on Friday, August 22, 2025 from 10 AM to 12 PM at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors. A graveside service will follow at Liberty Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
