Peggy Jean Harbin Wright, age 80, of Grenada, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022, at UMMC-Grenada. Graveside services are at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Elam Cemetery at Coffeeville. Visitation is Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Mortimer National Funeral Home.
She was born on August 28, 1941, in Calhoun City and was the daughter of the late William Newton Harbin and Ruthie Leona Walker Harbin.
Peggy was employed by Pennaco Hosiery Mill in the Gusseting Department until her retirement. She attended Elam Baptist Church at Coffeeville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Isaiah Thomas "Red" Wright; three sisters, Norma Avery, Ella McNatt, and Dorothy Duke; and three brothers, Rufus Harbin, Donald Harbin, and Carl Harbin.
Peggy is survived by two daughters, Tracey Alexander (Steve) of Vicksburg and Linda Logan (Doug) of Coffeeville; one sister, Margie Crocker of Grenada; five grandchildren, Hayley McDaniel, Matthew Boyd, Blake A. Logan, Blake Logan, and Marisa Logan; and four great-grandchildren, Olivia McDaniel, Everette McDaniel, Elizabeth McDaniel, and Roman Mayhan.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Post Office Box 22478, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123.
