Victor Pete Buffin, 87, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Deleware County, IN, son of the late Jesse James Buffin and Effie May Bayes Buffin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosie Miller Buffin; and his siblings, Hattie Harmon, Evelyn Brewer, Sid Buffin, Kay West, Jay Buffin, June Hayden, Paul Buffin, Jessie Buffin, Bob Buffin, Dorothy Buffin, and Dick Buffin. Mr. Buffin was a proud U.S. Marine Corps Veteran.
Mr. Buffin is survived by his wife, Pattie Jean Riley Collier Buffin; his children, Debbie Johnson (Keith), Vickie Machado, Deborah Watson (Randy), and John Collier (Ivy); his brother, Leroy Buffin; his grandchildren, Rosalee Capozzi (James), Christopher Johnson (Chelsea), David Lawson, Darren Machado (Sheyanne), Brent Efird (Tiffany), Jonathan Watson (Shannon), Erik Collier (Amanda), and Amy Thomas (Robert); nine great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Pete's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the First Baptist Church of Lowell, 400 W 1st Street, Lowell, NC 28098. Pastor Walt Griggs will officiate. The family will receive friends, at the church, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
