Ashley Maurice “Pete” Espy, age 71, of Ringgold went fishing on September 5, 2025. Pete was born and raised in Ringgold, Georgia, and attended Ringgold High School Class of 1972. Pete was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin H. and Bonnie Kate Ashley Espy; infant brother, Marvin H. Espy, Jr.; and son-in-law, Butch Preston.
He is survived by his faithful companion, Norma Jean; daughters, Tammy Preston and Amand Kerley; and sons, Michael Espy and Danny Kerley. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Caitlin (Kyle) Morlang, Paiton (Drew) Gibson, Allison (Allen) Cook, McKenzie (Kevin) Bethune, and Ayden Preston. Pete is also survived by his best friend of 50 years, Edward Rathburn; and 4 great-grandchildren.
There will be no public services at this time.
