Pete McCullar, 79, of Tamaha died on Monday, January 27, 2025 at his home. He was born at Dow, Oklahoma on December 30, 1945 to John Denver McCullar and Billie Jean (Sartin) McCullar. He was married to Joyce Francis on June 24, 1995 and made their home together. He worked as a production supervisor for the McAlester Ammunition Depot for 32 years until retirement. Pete loved hunting, fishing, raising animals and raising a garden. He operated his produce stand in Stigler for many years. He and Joyce loved going on camping trips in Colorado and many area lakes.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce McCullar of the home; his daughters, Tonya McCullar of Tahlequah, Tammy Dicus and husband Craig of Inola, Kara McCullar of Oklahoma City, Amanda McCullar of West Covina, CA, Tonya Cumpton and husband Buddy of Eufaula; his sons, Bradley French and wife Kendra of Tamaha, Jason French and wife Rachel of Durant, Jeremy French and wife Sara of Stigler; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; his brothers, Tommy McCullar of Hartshorne, Don McCullar and wife Donna of Gilbert, AZ; his sister, Diane Trammell and husband Henry of McAlester. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Billie McCullar.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 29, 2024 at the R.E. Shearwood Memorial Chapel with Reverend Willard Francis officiating. The Eulogist will be Reverend Tommie Parker. Pallbearers will be Jake McCullar, Chad McCullar, Jonah Herrera, Kevin McCullar, Monte McCullar, Hayden Cumpton. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy French, Jason French, Bradley French, Craig Dicus, Buddy Cumpton, Jack Cupit, Rick Romo, Hank Trammell, Hank Trammell Jr, Kane French, Jacob Herrera. Burial will follow at Tamaha Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
